The Indian Ferro Alloy Producers’ Association (IFAPA) founded in 1961, is an independent apex body representing the Bulk and Noble Ferro Alloy Producers of India. IFAPA has completed 64 glorious years of its successful journey and has blossomed and grown into an effective and efficient instrument between the industry stakeholders and policy makers to discuss and determine the needs of the industry and to facilitate solutions with a growing member count from 5 to a current total of 85 members, both big and small spread across the country.
Since its inception in 1961, IFAPA has been engaged in protecting and promoting the interests of the Ferro Alloy Industry in India with the support of Ministry of Steel, Government of India and has played a major role with the Government, in formation of various policies , procedures for the Ferro Alloy Industry.
IFAPA is an active member of most of the concerned and relevant All India Industry chambers/organisations like CII, FICCI, ASSOCHAM, IISSSC, EEPC, JPC etc.

Achievements by IFAPA
In our quest for quality production, on our request, Quality Control Orders on Ferro Manganese, Silico Manganese, Ferro Chrome, Ferro Molybdenum and Ferro Vanadium have been issued ensuring BIS Standards in addition to Ferro Silicon and Ferro Nickel already existing.
Bilateral Safeguard Duty imposed on import of Ferro Molybdenum from Republic of Korea in order to alleviate the suffering and give a level playing field to the producers engaged in production of Ferro Molybdenum.
25 critical minerals were exempted from BCD in Union Budget 2024-25 and another 12 critical minerals were also exempted in addition to these 25 in the Union Budget 2025-26.
Government of India have agreed to and issued Industry specific exemption for Ferro Alloys Industry on Safeguard (QR) on Import of LAM Coke.
IFAPA is leading the list of interested parties in the safeguard investigation initiated by the European Union concerning the import of Ferro Manganese, Silico Manganese, Ferro Silicon and Ferro Silico Magnesium.
